The Island

Kangaroo Island is Australia 's third largest Island just 16 kilometres off South Australia 's coast. Offering spectacular coastal and bush scenery with over one third of the Island dedicated to National and Conservation Parks. With unspoilt flora and fauna, Kangaroo Island is fast growing a reputation for excellent wine and produce with a long held reputation for fantastic fishing.

"We didn't realise the Island was so large" is a frequent comment by visitors and you will need at least three days to enjoy all the Island has to offer - in fact you'll love it so much you'll need to stay another day!

The Racecourse

The location of the course has provided the Club with a venue, which is both convenient for local people but is also conveniently near the Kingscote Airport. The Sealink Ferry service is only a 30-minute drive away. This alone allows easy access for both Island and mainland public. The events have continued to grow each year and now the KI Cup is regarded as one of regional SA's “must visit” race meets.

Membership

Become a member of the Kangaroo Island Racing Club and enjoy the relaxed and exciting atmosphere of racing at one of South Australia 's most picturesque racetracks, the highlight being the running of the popular Kangaroo Island Cup Carnival staged annually in February.

The Kangaroo Island Racing Club welcomes new members to show their support of a unique country racing club.

Membership is only $40 per person.

•  Invitation to racing season social functions (Members receive discounted entrance).

•  25% discount for hire of Club facilities for private functions.

Kangaroo Island Racing Club offers excellent facilites for client hosting and the opportunity to raise the profile of your business through sponsorship of the largest tourism event on Kangaroo Island. The Club offers a variety of sponsorship packages and offers maximum exposure of your product or service to a total of over 4,000 attendees across the three racemeetings.

The Track

• Track Circumference: 1600m
• Length of straight: 375m
• Distance to first turn: as stated.
• Character: Spacious circuit with oval track. Long straights and two broad turns.
• Track is irrigated, well grassed and quite uniform. Soil type is sand over clay
• Field limits: 10 for all starts
• Meetings per year: 2 TAB & 1 non TAB meeting
