Bill Holland Series to Come Down to Final Leg

After six Eyre Peninsula Cups, the 2017 Bill Holland Series will come down to the seventh and final leg on Streaky Bay Cup Day.

The Angela Forster trained A Chiller currently leads the series on 20 points after a win in the Thevenard Cup and a second placing in the Ceduna Cup.

There are three horses running in Saturday’s Streaky Bay Cup that could pinch the series from A Chiller if they win the 1800m feature.

A win by New Wave or Montalto would see them take the series outright, while a win from Eye the World would see the series tied, as would a second placing by Montalto if none of the aforementioned horses take out the Cup.

Angela Forster has well and truly sewn up the Bill Holland Trainers Title. She sits on 53 points with her nearest rival on 17 points and will take home the $3,000 prize for her great season.

In form apprentice, Brandon Griffiths will have one last chance to try and beat Justin Huxtable for Jockey of the Series honours with his ride on Eye The World in the Streaky Bay Cup. Griffiths will need to win to have any chance of taking the title away from Huxtable.
