2020 TQCSI Balaklava Cup - crowd now 2000

A CROWD of up to 2000 people will be allowed at the 2020 TQCSI Balaklava Cup next Wednesday, following an announcement from SA Health today.

The increase allows for an extra 1000 tickets to be sold for the event, available now.

“Tickets to our marquees have sold out, but we still have limited general entry tickets available,” Balaklava Racing Club CEO Doug Hall said.

“Due to COVID rules, all tickets must be pre-booked, including members and owners.”

There are currently 600 on a waiting list, so it won’t take long for the annual event to sell out again soon.

“The only tickets we have remaining are general entry and enquiries should be directed to admin@balaklavaracingclub.com.au or by phoning us on 08 8862 1503,” Mr Hall said.

He said the terms social distancing and COVID safe are becoming the new norm, but the club stressed patrons must follow these new safety measures.

“We will have COVID Marshalls roaming around all day reminding people to social distance and to remain seated while eating and drinking,” Mr Hall said.

For late ticketing, collections will be handled at Gate A where there will be two lines.

Look for the dedicated marquee to collect tickets.

The club is open on the Tuesday before cup day 9am-5pm and patrons are urged to organise their ticketing before the event to avoid queueing.

The Balaklava Cup is the third biggest race meet in South Australia and has enjoyed crowds of up to 15,000 in the past.
