Lincoln Moore's Saturday Preview

BEST BET: SIZZLEFLY (Race 5)

EACH-WAY: CALL ME SHAMUS (Race 4)

VALUE: DEXTER YOU DEVIL (Race 7)

RACE 1 - 12:36PM Irongate Two-Year-Old Plate (1000 METRES)

All on debut here, so the market will tell a big story. McEvoy’s PAD THAI cost $150k at the 2020 Gold Coast MM sale and ran through the line strongly at a Werribee jump-out. He then looked strong when winning a Flemington jump-out last month. SAASMIT looked pretty good in her most recent Caulfield jump-out. The Maher/Eustace team have a great record when it comes to placing their youngsters. LAMOREE is in the Richard and Chantelle Jolly barn and looked good very smart winning a recent Morphettville jump out easily. GARRIRE ran fourth in the same jump-out. UP THE LANE ran second in a recent Morphettville jump-out. FOUR WINDS looked good in a recent Strathalbyn hit-out.

SELECTIONS: PAD THAI, Saasmit, Lamoree

RACE 2 - 1:11PM Riverscape Food & Wine Handicap (1200 METRES)

OUTLAWS REVENGE is a promising type and ran well on debt behind Zoushine before going to Gawler and beating Daily Spirit and subsequent winner Indian Gazelle (who finished fourth). He’s drawn out but he’ll appreciate the big open spaces of this circuit and had a jump-out at Morphettville on Monday to ready himself for this. IMPOSSIBLE ACTION was heavily backed from $2.50-$1.90 to beat Spinola Bay last time. He was placed here on debut behind Bottom Line, looks a progressive type and the stable is going super. STRUCK BY is another progressive type who ran well behind The Big Goodbye last time. His Balaklava win was very good but this is a stronger field. MAYAMEEN was sent out favourite first-up from a spell when beaten 2.9 lengths behind The Big Goodbye. She draws a good gate and is sure to give this a shake. BARACONI was impressive at Morphettville, sitting just off the speed and racing away to win by 1.8 lengths last time.

SELECTIONS: OUTLAWS REVENGE, Impossible Action, Struck By

RACE3 - 1:46PM Murray & Leader Computers - Proudly SA Owned Handicap (1800 METRES)

HERE COMES LENNI has been very good at all three runs in SA and was too strong for Mr Epic at Morphettville last time. He maps to get a good run here from gate five and the rise to 1800m shouldn’t be an issue. MAGNETIC EDGE was well backed to run favourite in the same race and didn’t have a lot go right. His win over Renegade four runs back was good for this, but he has a slightly sticky gate. MEADOWS YOUNG BUCK is going well and led throughout to make it two wins in succession at Morphettville last time. He’ll roll forward from barrier four and be in this for a long way. THE RED SEA looks the early leader from an inside gate. He was only plain last time, but is back in trip.

SELECTIONS: HERE COMES LENNI, Magnetic Edge, Meadows Young Buck

RACE 4 - 2:21PM Carlton Draught Handicap (1200 METRES)

SECOND SLIP is an interesting runner first-up in Australia for Will Clarken. He’s had three jump-outs and beat some handy types last time at Strathalbyn. Market support could be the best guide to his chances. CALL ME SHAMUS looked very good first-up from a spell, coming off the speed to race past May Be Fate. He draws out but must be respected and does look good each-way value at $8 in early tab.com.au markets. GOUGERS is on the quick back-up from Gawler last week and ran well when beaten 2.8 lengths behind Four Of A Kind. His form back in September was good for a race like this. WINNING WEATHER is taking on the older horses here and was a Morphettville winner three starts back. She has won here and draws a nice gate to improve. CALL ME CURTIS was very good first-up from a spell and then OK behind Symphonette last time. He maps to get a good run from the gate and is never far away. LAKE’S FOLLY was good winning first-up in SA for Michael Hickmott but draws a sticky barrier here and has plenty of weight, even after the claim. Stablemate COTILLION is a winner here and right down in the weights. CIRCUS DANCER is going well and was a Strathalbyn winner two back before coming from well back to be beaten less than a length behind Vindex last time. He’ll get a nice run from the inside gate. LITTLE RICH BOY will make the speed from a good gate.

SELECTIONS: CALL ME SHAMUS, Second Slip, Winning Weather

RACE 5 - 3:01PM Ridleys Plumbing and Earthmoving Handicap (1000 METRES)

SIZZLEFLY faces a tricky gate but her first-up effort was very good, beating home all but smart stablemate Terbium at Gawler. She’s won five of 15 and looks right in this with some early luck. CAN’TFORGETYOU is a smart mare on her day and boasts the scalp of Bella Vella at Moonee Valley back in November 2019. She has a win and a second from three first-up starts and looks a massive show here despite a wide gate. BOLT I AM has a good record and his first-up effort coming from a long way back to run second behind Kenyan Wonder was very good. LI’L KONTRA won well at Morphettville back in November, beating Port Vale, and her latest effort in the Christmas Handicap behind Savatoxl was solid. She’ll get a gun run from the inside gate and must be respected. VALENTINA STAR ran really well first-up in SA for Nicole Bruggemann, beaten just 1.2 lengths behind Lake’s Folly, and must be respected despite the rise in class here.

SELECTIONS: SIZZLEFLY, Can’tforgetyou, Bolt I Am

RACE 6 - 3:41PM Weddings @ Bridges Event Centre Handicap (1000 METRES)

FEARLESS VISION looks a promising type and won well at on the Parks track first-up from a spell before a handy effort behind Mileva and another handy run behind Mrs Hyde before a break. She’s drawn a sticky gate here but clearly has some upside. MY PRINCE CHARMING ran well first-up in SA and should get an OK run from the middle gate. DESERT SPIRIT trialled impressively and was sent out favourite at Morphettville three starts back. He was a good winner at Naracoorte last time and will make the speed from a good gate. EXALTED GOLD defeated The Raven at Gawler last time and has a handy record around her home track. Stablemate EXALTED QUEEN draws to make the speed and did defeat Rose Tiara at Morphettville two back. ALL IN WAR is a former NSW galloper now with Ryan Balfour and was runner-up at Randwick last February. She draws out but looked good in a recent jump-out with Outlaws Revenge and All Banter. STORM VOYAGER draws a good barrier and is bursting to break through in similar class.

SELECTIONS: FEARLESS VISION, Desert Spirit, Storm Voyager

RACE 7 - 4:21PM Magic Millions Handicap (1400 METRES)

DEXTER YOU DEVIL gets into this OK with the claim. He’s won 11 of 33 and has been sensational for Shayne Cahill. He draws out but will like the spacious circuit and has strong appeal, especially at the $10 quote. SKY PUNCH caused a big boilover two starts back when winning the Leon Macdonald Stakes at a price, before a handy effort at Flemington during Cup week. He won his only start this track and trip and is sure to give this a shake. HEARTY LASS is in top form and followed good runs here in Adelaide by going to Caulfield and defeating Brazen Song when ridden off the speed. She’ll get a good run from the inside gate and looks a major chance. RENEGADE was a soft winner on the Parks three back then hit the front too soon behind Magnetic Edge. He wasn’t beaten far behind Left Hand Man before a freshen-up and looks well graded in a race like this. JESTER HALO has a good record and wasn’t beaten far behind Re Edit at Moonee Valley last time, but draws a wide gate. DONE BY ME is back in SA and looms as an improver, while COSMIC AWARD is another who could be ready to fire.

SELECTIONS: DEXTER YOU DEVIL, Hearty Lass, Sky Punch

RACE 8 - 5:01PM Fibretrack Handicap (1400 METRES)

SIBERIAN ROUTE trialled well before an impressive 5.3 length win at Strath n debut. This is a big jump in class but there was a lot to like about that and he draws perfectly here. TIBETAN looked very good on a wet track at Gawler when winning at his Australian debut. He was third behind an in-form Darlamax at Morphettville before a break and should run well, even with the big weight. ANNIKA was a good winner over Storm Voyager at Morphettville before another solid effort behind Symphonette last time. She’ll get a good run here from gate six. ICECRUSHER should get a nice run from the inside gate and is going well, LA RICHESSE is right up to these on her best but that’s normally when she can get a cheap lead. LATEST BENTLEY has been good at both runs in SA and draws a nice gate. BIG DARRYL is poorly drawn but capable in a race like this.

SELECTIONS: SIBERIAN ROUTE, Annika, Icecrusher

RACE 9 - 5:40PM Butcher’s Big Day out – 16 Jan Handicap (1600 METRES)

Very tough race to end the day and looks some value to be had. DREAMED is a handy mare on her day who is drawn the inside but the step up in trip looks ideal. KYSHAKA is another who should appreciate getting back here to Murray Bridge where she won impressively last campaign. That pair look well over the odds at double figures. UNLACED was good first-up in Australia, running fourth to Motell at Morphettville, and draws to get a good run here. DIAMOND TYCOON has a great record this track and trip and maps to get a gun run from barrier four. BAJAN has been OK this campaign, but is back in trip. Stablemate MOUNT MADEIRA is drawn out but ran well back in class last time. THE PUGILIST blew like the wind in betting but was too good at Strathalbyn first-up and should get a lovely run from gate three with Todd Pannell riding. Stablemate RECOGNISE was a soft winner at Oakbank last time out, while MR EPIC is knocking on the door.

SELECTIONS: DREAMED, Diamond Tycoon, Kyshaka

IMAGE: Lincoln Moore’s best bet at Murray Bridge is Sizzlefly in race five.
